DEE SNIDER Releases Statement Regarding Verdict In Brother-In-Law's Murder Case

May 23, 2011

A New York millionaire business owner was found guilty by a federal jury Monday on charges of orchestrating two slayings connected to an armored van heist and a subsequent attempt to cover up the robbery.

The jury failed to reach a verdict on two charges in connection with the 2003 murder of Vincent Gargiulo, the brother-in-law of TWISTED SISTER singer Dee Snider.

Gargiulo was shot in the head in August 2003 at Broadway and West 30th Street. Gargiulo, of Sunnyside, had been a longtime friend and business partner in gymnasiums with Christian Tarantino, 42, with whom he had a falling out over the gym business.

Tarantino will face a retrial on the Gargiulo charges in August.

Snider, on behalf of his wife Suzette (Vinny Gargiulo's sister) as well as the entire Gargiulo and Snider families, has released the following statement regarding the announcement of the verdict in the trial of the man who allegedly ordered Mr. Gargiulo's killing.

"We are grateful to finally have some kind of legal closure to these crimes, but that does not change the fact we have lost a son, a brother, an uncle and most of all a beloved friend.

"Vinny believed Chris Tarantino to be a bad person who needed to be stopped; so much so he gave his life to do just that.

"We would like to thank all the federal, state and local authorities who worked so tirelessly these past six years, particularly D.A. Jim Miskiewicz and his great team, federal agent Robert Shellhorn, NYPD detective Eric Brzostek, as well as retired Nassau County detectives Jack Kennedy and Anthony Zacaressi. Their commitment to gaining a measure of justice for the victims in this case was inspiring.

"Vinny, we all love you and miss you."
